From what it seems, there is a little demon that lurks within the minds of students of the Infinity Institute.   It is a stealthy creature that preys upon weakness and appetite and has ruined the weekends of many, and perhaps, the grades of many. The demon’s name is procrastination, and said demon is most likely mocking Mrs. Franco’s Journalism students as she reads the articles for the month of December. However, the demon may triumph again for the next upcoming assignment; and the next, and the next, and the next. The senior class; however, has only the contrary to say about this malevolent beast.

Upon asking students around the school what their New Year’s Resolution will be, most have given me the clichés: “to get better grades” or “to make new friends” or “lose 25 lbs?” With further interviewing, though, there was one resolution in particular that seemed more aesthetic across all students of Infinity or students in general, as said by the senior class. And it is the very goal for 2015 to accomplish the goal of 2014, which should have been completed in 2013, which was planned in 2012. You heard it here first folks:  to conquer procrastination!

Now, in terms of how to actually overcome this demon is a whole other story. As true as it is that one can simply Google “how to conquer procrastination,” here’s another truth: you can’t conquer it alone! Everyone who wishes to kill this nasty little habit requires a third party that either does not have this habit, or has already overcome it. So, ask for some advice from your friend who always seems to have their assignments completed three days before they’re due or your teacher who is shocked when you email your assignments before 2 am or your planner which tells you days in advance when your assignments are due!

It is almost Christmas and now the responsibilities of shopping are instilled with every student, along with academic obligations. Hopefully as Christmas passes, no student shall see the day when this merciless creature cannot restrain itself from laughter as deadlines run far and fast down the calendar.
